Colombia reached 47.4 million Internet users, between landlines and 4G mobiles, in the third quarter of 2023.

The MinTIC presents the March ICT Bulletin for the third quarter of 2023, a report that provides a detailed analysis of the behavior of the Internet and telephone connections between July and September Month of previous year. The journal highlights the need for increased connectivity and efficiency among government officials, in addition to the public’s commitment to the use of digital technologies. For example, Colombia closed the third quarter of 2023 at 47.4 million Internet accesses, which represents a growth of 4.2 million new connections in the first nine months of the previous year. Similarly, the country reached 8.94 million fixed internet connections, thanks to more than 35,000 new accesses that occurred between January and September 2023.

These advances support the commitment of the ICT sector to achieve the goals established in the National Development Plan, which seeks to expand and freely use the Internet throughout the country.

Another important point is the rapid progress of Internet download speed in many departments in the last year. This segment is led by Meta, with a significant growth of 90 Mbps It is followed by Caquetá, with 89 Mbps, while Santander, Cundinamarca, Huila, Atlántico and Bogotá present changes that exceed 78 Mbps panorama of connections in these areas, proving continuous progress in the quality of Internet connections.
