ICT Ministry opens second Call for Funds of ‘ConnectiVITY To Change Lives’ project, which will help 53,000 homes with Internet security

Focus on reducing inequality and continue to connect the country, within the framework of the project’Connections to Change Lives‘, the ICT Ministry opens and announces the final conditions of the Second Call – Type 1 Project, aimed at Internet Service Providers (ISP) willing to connect 53,530 families in stratum 1 and 2, in 22 cities of Cauca, Chocó, Nariño, Urabá Antioquia and La Guajira.

Through Government Change We have prioritized fiber optics to connect the country, starting with the population that needs it the most. It is a challenge that we can only do in collaboration with you, which is why we invite ISPs to join this call. With your suggestions we will be able to close the digital gap and make Colombia a Digital powerhouse“said ICT Minister, Mauricio Lizcano (@MauricioLizcano).

ISPs interested in participating can send their requests from April 22 to April 26, 2024 at 11:59 pm, via email supervisioncpcv@mintic.gov.co. The second call to the rest is made by the Autonomous Heritage “ConnectiVITY to change life”, seeking help for the city of: Turbo (Antioquia); Piendamó and Morales (Cauca); Quibdó and El Carmen de Atrato (Chocó); San Juan del César, Distraction, Barrancas, Hatonuevo, El Molino, Villanueva, Urumita and La Jagua del Pilar (La Guajira), and Albán, Belén, Buesaco, Colón, El Tablón de Gómez, El Tambo, San Bernardo, San Pablo and Yacuanquer (Nariño).

It is important to point out that this second call is issued with the aim of achieving the first objective established in Special Agreement No. 2, was signed on October 16, 2023, to connect the first 144,225 strata 1 homes to broadband Internet and 2, and Organized Connectivity Communities in the 38 first priorities in the city, in the framework of the merger of management with the company Internexa.
